Become a Public Ally

Public Allies Arizona is a 10-month, paid AmeriCorps program designed to develop the next generation of civic leaders. We seek dedicated, service-minded people to become Public Allies with nonprofit organizations in the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas.

Our Allies come from diverse backgrounds, and you don't need to attend ASU to participate.

What is Public Allies?

Based in major cities across the country, Public Allies is a social justice organization committed to creating a just and equitable society and the diverse leadership to sustain it. Our Allies build relationships with a cohort of like-minded individuals as they work toward lasting change.

  • We are changing the face of leadership. Allies engage in 10 months of paid, work-based learning with local nonprofit, social service or government agencies. See which organizations have hosted our Public Allies.
  • We believe knowledge is power. Allies transform their leadership and professional skills through a powerful curriculum and inspiring retreats led by community leaders, nonprofit professionals and peers.
  • We go where the need is greatest. WIth a range of service initiatives, Allies work alongside community members to create innovative responses and sustainable solutions to real local needs.
  • We look inward to advocate for outward change. Allies receive professional and peer-to-peer coaching to enhance personal development and convert feedback into action.
