ABOUT DC RANCH:

DC Ranch is a 4,400-acre community located adjacent to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve in north Scottsdale, Arizona. The community is composed of 25 diverse neighborhoods within four distinct villages that interact with shared open spaces to create a sense of living with the land. The first home was completed in 1997, and there are currently 2,800 homes and approximately 7,000 residents on the Ranch.

DC Ranch is governed by three entities: DC Ranch Community Council, Ranch Association, and the Covenant Commission. All three entities work toward the same goal: to serve residents and create a community that is beautiful, functions well, and creates a deep sense of belonging.

OVERVIEW:

This position produces print and digital content that supports the communications and public relations needs for an award-winning master-planned community and will support the Graphic Design Coordinator.  This position is scheduled for 20 hours per week.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Communications and Marketing for DC Ranch

  • Create print materials for distribution to residents and staff via mail, community centers, kiosks, signs, and other methods.
  • Produce high-impact digital content for websites, emails, social media, and other platforms that include text, graphics, video, and animation.
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of different approaches to your design process and ensure the DC Ranch brand is the primary focus.
  • Ensure all print and digital content meets brand standards for text, artwork, color, and logos.
  • Optimize use of communications vehicles for their intended purpose

Communications Team Support

  • Obtain photos and video for communications vehicles.
  • Provide quality control over positioning and messaging of information that is communicated

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES NEEDED:

  • High proficiency using Adobe Suite programs (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Windows
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Follow graphic design standards and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively to create visual content that complements brand and marketing strategies.
  • Skilled in and able to brainstorm, innovate, collaborate, influence, prioritize and execute.
  • Naturally, initiative-taking, self-motivated and self-managed
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow-up with requests in an efficient and timely fashion.
  • Works well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Fanatical about attention to detail and consistency

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent working knowledge in communications, graphic design or related field
  • Two to three years of experience working in a professional office setting
