Effective Financial Management Principles

In this course, participants will learn basic accounting principles and how to interpret and manage financial statements for a nonprofit organization. In addition, you will also learn the difference between accrual and cash basis accounting, and the importance of internal controls to protect the assets of your organization. Finally, you will learn how to analyze and use tax form 990, along with your organization’s annual report, as public relations tools.

*In-person course requires participants to bring laptop with Excel to the training to access course material.

Strategic Planning Boot Camp

This two-day boot camp will provide participants with an intensive, hands-on experience using the most current practices for effective strategic planning in any nonprofit organization. The course will focus on the strategic business aspects of a nonprofit organization. You will learn how to assess the internal and external factors that influence the success of your programs. In addition, you will learn how your organization creates value for your clients. You will learn how to explore alternate futures scenarios for your organization and create strategic alternatives.  In just two days, you will learn how tothinkstrategically, ways to approach creating a strategic plan for your project in your organization, and create a “Next Steps” Action Plan for implementing what you have learned.
