Director’s Award for Outstanding Leadership #2
Purpose: The purpose of the award is to provide an outstanding Nonprofit Leadership Alliance/ASU student with a cash award to use toward the costs associated with participation in the Upswell conference, or similar approved experience, necessary for NLM certification. When used for the Upswell experience, a check is forwarded directly to the national office of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Inc.
Award: An award, and citation, is provided annually through the endowment and a check is forwarded directly to the national office of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Inc. The award was established by Dixon Fagerberg, Jr., a champion of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance at ASU.
Criteria: Student selected must:
- Be an upper division student at ASU in good standing (application on file) who is currently enrolled during the spring semester and actively working toward fulfillment of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance certification (Certified Nonprofit Professional).
- Have been enrolled in the NLM/ASU program for at least one full year.
- Demonstrate promise for a career in nonprofit leadership and management, particularly with organizations that serve diverse constituencies.
- Have the respect of their professors as a person of character.
- Demonstrate leadership or potential for leadership in the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program.
How to Apply: N/A
Selection: In accordance with the wishes of the donor, the selection of the student recipient of this award is made by a scholarship committee consisting of faculty, alumni and community members. Nominations of qualifying students may be made by faculty/staff of the program.
Deadline: The recipient is selected prior to the annual Sr. Recognition Event of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance held in April of each year.
