Director’s Award for Outstanding Leadership #1
Purpose: The purpose of this award is to honor an outstanding senior of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program with a cash award to assist with expenses associated with their senior internship experience.
Award: A $500 award, and citation, is provided annually through the endowment (amount may change depending upon ASU Foundation payout). The award was established by Dixon Fagerberg, Jr., a champion of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance at ASU.
Criteria: Student selected must:
- Be a senior student at ASU in good standing (application on file) who is currently enrolled during the spring semester and actively working toward fulfillment of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance certification (Certified Nonprofit Professional).
- Demonstrate promise for a career in nonprofit leadership and management, particularly with organizations that serve diverse constituencies.
- Have the respect of their professors as a person of character.
- Demonstrate leadership in the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program for at least 3 semesters.
- Have secured a qualifying internship in a 501(c)(3) community-based nonprofit organization before cash award is granted.
How to Apply: N/A
Selection: In accordance with the wishes of the donor, the selection of the student recipient of this award is made by a scholarship committee consisting of faculty, alumni and community members. Nominations of qualifying students may be made by faculty/staff of the program.
Deadline: The recipient is selected prior to the annual Sr. Recognition Event of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance held in April of each year.
