Marketing Project Manager

TechForce Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) working nationwide to support technical education and the professional technician workforce. We help students explore the career path, pursue their technical training through scholarships and grants, and connect with apprenticeships and jobs in the automotive, trucking, collision, aviation, restoration, motorsports, HVAC, welding, stationary engines, and numerous other industry sectors that rely on this skilled workforce.

Position Summary

The Marketing Project Manager is an operational driver, ensuring the seamless execution of TechForce’s marketing initiatives. This role focuses on managing timelines, coordinating logistics, and keeping marketing programs on track—including content scheduling, event coordination, influencer partnerships, PR support, and internal communications. While creativity is valued, this is a process-oriented role requiring exceptional organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties

Content & Social Media Management – Oversee the social media content calendar, ensuring timely posting of scholarship wins, student success stories, donor recognitions, and industry updates while collaborating with the creative team to optimize content for engagement and reach.

Event Planning & Execution – Manage logistics, registration, ticketing and on-site execution for TechForce events, aligning activations with event goals, coordinating with development with sponsors and partners, and tracking ROI through promotions and post-event reports.

Influencer & Partnership Engagement – Support influencer collaborations, handling outreach, contracts, and performance tracking while identifying new partnership opportunities to expand TechForce’s reach.

Email & Nurture Campaigns – Manage  newsletters and audience segmentation to ensure engaging messaging, monitor performance, and refine outreach strategies.

Marketing Program Support – Support the marketing team with its various promotions, including (but not limited to) Network Contests and Leaderboard Challenges, Techs Rock Awards/Employers Rock Awards, polling, surveys, virtual career fairs and more. Organize and coordinate details and logistics. Ensure strong strategy, compelling content, active engagement tracking and prize delivery.

PR & Media Coordination – Write and assist with the release of news alerts, media outreach, and publicity efforts, managing media lists, coordinating interviews, and tracking brand visibility across industry channels. 

CRM Support – Export mail lists from the Hubspot and/or GiveSmart CRM systems and upload to SendGrid and/or Twilio for distribution. Maintain a portfolio of contact records on behalf of the marketing team.

Administrative Support - Provide administrative support to the VP Marketing & Technology, as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Must-Haves:

  • Exceptional organization and project management skills  with a knack for managing multiple projects at once.
  • Sharp eye for detail—nothing gets past you.
  • Ability to project potential hiccups and prevent them by thinking through everything
  • Marketing-savvy mindset with experience in content planning, campaign execution, and social media strategy.
  • Tech fluency—comfortable with marketing platforms like Hubspot,  Sendgrid, Canva, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar tools.
  • Self-starter mentality—you don’t wait for direction, you own your projects and get things done.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience working in the skilled careers / automotive / technical education space.
  • Background in event planning, PR, or influencer marketing.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, social media ad platforms, or email automation tools.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, project management, or event coordination.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with social media platforms, digital marketing, and content creation.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Hubspot, and/or Sendgrid desirable. 
  • Strong writing and grammar skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.

Work Environment

  • Professional, corporate office environment or the opportunity to work remotely, including from a home office location.
  • Regular business hours, occasionally skewed to accommodate different time zones.
  • Most work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. The occasional exception to this occurs in the context of special events which can include outside work in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel as needed, estimated at 10% travel.
