Communications Specialist
Are you innovative and passionate about creating digital marketing and strategic communications campaigns? The Communications Specialist will support the development and achievement of the organization’s communications, branding, and marketing efforts. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the organization effectively communicates its program offerings to a national audience.
The Communications Specialist is responsible for managing campaigns and marketing programs and events through a variety of digital platforms. This role will be part of the creative team and coordinate with senior leadership on the production of key program campaigns, including planning, deployment and measurement/reporting.

- Knowledgeable and skilled in the principles of digital marketing, social media and public relations
- A self-starting strategic thinker and implementer — equally comfortable focusing on both planning and performing the direct work necessary with oversight
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, and an ability to effectively map out and manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously
- A skilled communicator and excellent writer with editing skills, storytelling abilities, and experience developing and adhering to brand guidelines
Key areas of focus for this position include:
- Digital media planning and implementation
- Social media content planning and implementation
- Reporting on overall performance of various marketing campaigns
- Communications strategy
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft, execute, and manage all digital marketing and advertising campaigns for Institute and Civics for Life programs, recommend new opportunities
- Collaborate with senior leadership in developing the digital marketing communications strategy, tactics, and key messages
- Develop and execute approved social media content and strategies
- Prepare reports and analytics on the overall performance of various marketing campaigns
- Help develop and maintain marketing communications calendar
- Research industry trends and innovations and make recommendations
Qualifications
Requested Qualifications:
- Experience with outlining, planning, and managing marketing communications projects
- Experience with social media platforms and their advertising, monitoring and analytic tools
- Solid understanding of digital marketing platforms and ability to implement campaigns and measure results
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects, strong time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-starter with strong sense of creativity, imagination, and innovation
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues
- Ability to analyze consumer metrics, reports, and trends
- Understanding of website analytics tools, such as HubSpot, Google Analytics helpful
- Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, advertising, communications, plus minimum two (2) years of experience
The Communications Specialist is a full-time, salaried remote and/or hybrid position.
