Public Allies Arizona Induction Day and 10th Anniversary Celebration

Phoenix, Ariz. (September 4, 2015) – Public Allies Arizona (PAAZ), a program of the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation, is celebrating ten years of engaging young emergent leaders in Arizona. PAAZ, is an AmeriCorps national youth leadership organization that recruits, places and develops leadership skills in dedicated, service-minded individuals who engage in paid 10-month apprenticeships throughout local nonprofit partner organizations. Allies are diverse and passionate individuals interested in social change and making a positive impact in their community. With more than 256 alumni and 43 current 2015-2016 program year participants, nearly 299 Allies have participated in the Public Allies Arizona program since its inception.

To celebrate ten years of programming, all are invited to the Public Allies Arizona Induction Day and 10th Anniversary Celebration set to take place on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at The Salvation Army KROC Center in Phoenix. City of Phoenix Councilwoman Laura Pastor will be also be speaking to event attendees. After the ceremony, Allies will be leading an effort to provide hygiene bags to be distributed to individuals experiencing homelessness – this small, yet mighty project is set to have a great impact on those in need. Currently, the Allies need the community’s help in collecting individually packaged toothbrushes and travel-sized toothpaste. If you would like to participate by donating any of these items, please bring them to the “Induction Day & 10th Anniversary Celebration” at The Salvation Army KROC Center located at 1375 East Broadway Road in Phoenix.
