HandsOn Greater Phoenix is an affiliate of Points of Light, an innovative global alliance of volunteer organizations working to build community through service and civic engagement across the United States and abroad.
Position Overview:
The Operations Manager is a position that will straddle both internal and external operational responsibilities. This will include office management, bookkeeping, technology, procurement, benefits/policy reviews, fleet oversight, etcetera. External operations will include public facing work around project management, which includes supporting and/or leading the implementation of high-impact, large-scale corporate service projects. This includes quarterly initiatives, annual partner engagements and one-time service events. This hybrid role is largely office based but can also be highly physical role, involving work in our tool warehouse and work at a project sites. This position will work both independently and collaboratively with other team members to ensure organizational success. The position will also involve periodic travel (2-10 days at a time).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily bookkeeping to include mail, invoices, checks, payroll
- Facilitate monthly and annual financial close in partnership with contract CPA, CEO and board treasurer
- Monitor and answer general organization email
- Support team culture- meetings, trainings, handbook/policy updates and PTO tracking
- Support and maintain technology throughout office environment
- Plan, organize and lead customized volunteer projects for HGP’s corporate partners (25-700 volunteers these could be off-site or kit options that take place virtually or on site)
- Cultivate new and maintain existing relationships with key partners
- Schedule and conduct site visits to assess feasibility of projects, establish partnerships and set expectations of community partners
- Support Project Management staff
- Develop and coordinate day-of logistics to accomplish project goals
- Oversee inventory and organization of extensive tool warehouse, tool trailers and trucks
- Maintain relationships with skilled volunteers such as artists/designers, handymen/women and contractors
- Provide additional programmatic support as needed
- Participate in organizational initiatives and special projects as needed/requested

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to pass a background clearance
- Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance
- Entry level to three years volunteer management, community service experience or national service a plus
- Working knowledge of tools, landscaping, painting, etc.
- High level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent time manager
Physical Work Environment:
- Will occasionally work irregular hours including evenings and weekends
- Will occasionally be on your feet at times 6-8 hours
- Will participate in physical work involved in prepping large-scale volunteer projects- packing, loading/unloading, painting, etc.
- Will be exposed to warm/hot weather
- Lift and carry (up to 60 lbs.)

Salary and Benefits:
The starting salary range for this position is $43,000 to $53,000, based on experience. Our excellent benefits package includes, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, 401k match and generous PTO.
