Position Summary:
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing a Arizona Jewish Historical Society. This role includes creating print and electronic content, overseeing social media and public relations efforts, and supporting fundraising campaigns to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Strategy and Planning

Develop and implement a strategic marketing and communications plans to increase awareness and engagement.

Analyze trends, evaluate effectiveness, and adjust strategies accordingly.

Review, strengthen and maintain internal communication processes and branding standards.

Collaborate with leadership to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.
2. Content Creation and Management
-
Write, design, and manage content for the organization’s website, newsletters, and email campaigns.

Manage the social media marketing and public relations firms and provide input to content, calendars, and communications.

Create compelling stories, press releases, and promotional materials to highlight the nonprofit’s mission and impact.

Ensure brand consistency across all communications and marketing materials.
3. Digital and Social Media Management

Manage the social media marketing and public relations firms (2), providing input for storytelling, content, and communications. and grow the organization’s online presence through platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.

Develop and implement social media campaigns to engage audiences and drive support.

Monitor and report on analytics to optimize engagement and reach.
4. Outreach

Represent the organization at public events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
5. Fundraising Support

Create marketing campaigns for fundraising initiatives, events, and donor stewardship.

Develop materials such as donor letters, case statements, and sponsorship packages.
6. Team Collaboration

Partner with programming team to ensure cohesive communication efforts.

Provide marketing and communications support for programs and initiatives.
About AZJHS:
AZJHS preserves and celebrates the rich heritage of Arizona’s Jewish communities, educates the public about the Jewish historical experience including the Holocaust, and promotes awareness of our state’s diverse history through arts, culture, and educational programming. The organization is in the midst of the $45M campaign ($37M to date) to build and operate the Hilton Family Holocaust Education Center.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field preferred, but will consider individuals with five-plus (5+) years of experience.

2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

Proven track record of managing successful marketing campaigns.
Skills and Competencies

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
-
Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Strong storytelling ability with attention to tone, audience, and mission alignment.

Familiarity with Constant Contact email marketing platform and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).

Graphic design skills and experience with design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus.

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in nonprofit communications, fundraising, or advocacy campaigns.

Knowledge website management.

Passion for the nonprofit’s mission and a deep understanding of its target audience.
