JOB SUMMARY:
This role requires maintaining the agency in a clean and orderly manner. This includes cleaning and sanitizing casitas when vacated, preparing them for incoming residents. Additionally, the Custodial Worker will manage responsibilities, including cleaning and restocking restrooms and other common areas, emptying trash, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the property. Adherence to safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and power equipment to prevent damage to surfaces and fixtures is required. The position also involves requisitioning necessary supplies and equipment to carry out maintenance and cleaning duties effectively.
The goal of this position is to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for New Life Center's residents and staff.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision
None.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Custodial (New Life Center)
- Collaborates as needed with the NLC Maintenance Department.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms in each building, including the resident dining area, restocking paper products as needed.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaner and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Sweeps and mops all tiled floors in each building and resident dining area.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas.
- Dusts common areas and cleans offices, including emptying trash baskets in each building.
- Cleans windows, glass partitions, or mirrors in all buildings, including the dining area using sopay water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
- Washes, folds, and restocks house laundry.
- Dispose of trash or waste materials from the common areas of campus and dining areas.
- Maintains all common areas free of clutter and debris, including the Meditation Garden, Patio, Break Rooms, and Children's Play Areas.
- Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Organize, clean and maintain storage area in an orderly organized manner.
- Contributes to maintaining a safe/productive environment.
- Accomplishes work within appropriate time frame.
- Performs a variety of labor related tasks and other assignments as needed.
Agency Management
- Participate as an active team member of New Life Center's facilities program.
- Responsible for cleanliness and appearance of entire campus.
- Communicate emergencies or needed maintenance and organization needs to the appropriate member of the leadership team.
- Communicate maintenance requests as needed to maintenance personnel.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with a diverse group of staff and residents who have exposure to trauma.
Other
- Help in building a culture of cooperation and collaboration among Agency staff, interns, and volunteers by modeling respectful behavior.
- Support and adhere to all policies regarding participant and program confidentiality.
- Actively contribute to the Agency's trauma informed practice and philosophy.
- Participate in scheduled Agency-wide meetings and events as assigned.
- Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent with 6 months or more experience as a housekeeper. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Valid Arizona driver's license and insurance and access to reliable transportation.
- Currently possess or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety. **
- Consent to participate in New Life Center's criminal history background check for Determination for Suitability to Interact with Minors. **
- CPR/1st Aid/Bloodborne Pathogen Certified. **
- Negative TB test required. **
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of personal computers and various software programs including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary/required.
**If necessary, New Life Center will complete these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.
