POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for advancing the fundraising efforts of the Development Team as it relates to individual and corporate annual giving. Develops and manages a robust portfolio of individual and corporate prospects, scheduling tours, conducting face-to-face solicitations, and stewarding donors in a meaningful and timely fashion.  This individual has knowledge of the donor cultivation cycle to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts using donor moves management techniques and customer relationship management (CRM) tools. This position involves significant collaboration with Marketing, Special Events, and Grants with a focus on developing, growing and expanding donor pipelines.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leadership:

  • Supports and mirrors the culture, mission, values, and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale.
  • Models behaviors and attitudes that support a culture of high-performance, innovation, continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Provides leadership and direction on implementation of best practices in fundraising.
  • Contributes to the productive and effective performance of all development staff.
  • Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.

Fundraising:

  • Individual Giving and Corporate Partnerships
  • Develops and manages a portfolio of individual and corporate prospects.
  • Cultivates productive relationships with existing and potential donors and volunteer leaders.
  • Works with Chief Development Officer, Special Events Director and Grants Manager to identify strong portfolio leads and develop multifaceted donor engagement strategies.
  • Solicits gifts of >$10,000.
  • Maintains an up-to-date pipeline of gift strategies and proposals in the CRM.
  • Annual giving programs.
  • Collaborates with Marketing on, implementing, and managing annual giving programs that includes direct mail, email, and social media campaigns.
  • Leads and manages strategies on expanding fundraising around Arizona Gives, Giving Tuesday and AZ State Tax Credit donations.
  • Employer Supported Giving Programs
  • Develops opportunities for employee donation matching, employee do-good donations, corporate sponsorships, and other employee giving programs.
  • Identifies and engages new and existing corporate partners through relationship building, as well as events and volunteering.

Resource Management:

  • Participates in the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual budgets, controlling expenditures within the budget and maintaining donor and financial record in accordance with standards.
  • Ensures evaluation of development activities and identifies opportunities to improve results.

Partnership Development:

  • Develops strategic alliances with community and business leaders aimed at securing resources for the organization.
  • Supports and develops collaborative partnerships with members, parents/guardians, families, funders, other youth-serving organizations, and community organizations.

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience raising money for a non-profit organization. 
  • Proven effectiveness in developing and managing a portfolio of donors with capacity to make gifts of $5,000-$10,000.
  • Demonstrated ability to solicit gifts of >$10,000.
  • Experience with leveraging a CRM as a donor moves management tool.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with corporate executives, high-net-worth individuals, and leadership volunteers.
  • Experience with developing donor proposals.
  • Knowledge of annual giving programs, such as Arizona Gives and Giving Tuesday.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Flawless ethics and integrity.
  • Safety oriented mindset.

Recommended:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
