Live & Learn Arizona is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact.

The Organization:
Live & Learn is a non-profit organization founded in 2012, to empower women in the Phoenix-metro area. It began as an initiative of the Arizona Foundation for Women and became an independent organization in 2014. Live & Learn continues to grow every year to meet the financial education needs and career training for women in our community.

Live & Learn staff provides ongoing career guidance and support for each client along their sustainability journey. The organization works with community partners to offer the best training programs for women and a range of life-skill classes and workshops that will help in this process.

The Opportunity:
Live & Learn Arizona is seeking an inspiring and strategic Executive Director to lead and transform the organization. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of operations, fundraising, and program development while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. This role is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader passionate about women's issues, particularly in addressing generational poverty and increasing access to post-secondary education.

What the Executive Director Does:
●    Leadership and Vision: Drive the organization's mission and vision forward, ensuring operational excellence and programmatic innovation. Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set strategic goals and priorities.
●    Financial Management: Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting. Ensure the financial sustainability of the organization through diverse funding streams and effective resource management.
●    Fundraising and Development: Lead fundraising efforts, including cultivating relationships with donors, securing grants, and building partnerships that support the organization’s growth.
●    Program Development: Oversee the design and implementation of dynamic programs that empower women, attract clients, and align with the organization's mission. Stay current on issues related to women's economic empowerment, particularly generational poverty and access to education. 

●    Partnerships and Collaboration: Build and maintain strong external partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Foster a collaborative culture within the organization, working closely with staff and the Board of Directors.
●    Communication and Advocacy: Communicate the organization's mission and impact through public speaking, media engagements, and storytelling. Ensure transparency in all communications with staff, board members, and external partners.
●    Change Management: Lead the organization through periods of change and growth, ensuring smooth transitions and continuous improvement in operations and programs.
●    Crisis Management: Effectively manage crises as they arise, ensuring the organization remains resilient and adaptable in challenging situations.
●    Accountability: Promote a culture of accountability within the organization, ensuring all staff are aligned with the organization’s goals and values.

What we offer:
●    Pay: between $90,000 and $115,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
●    Benefits include employer covered individual health benefits with family coverage available after the first 60 days, 401K matched up to 4%, and generous holiday and paid time off plan.
●    Office is located at 326 E. Coronado, Suite 201, Phoenix, AZ 85004.
 

Qualifications

Requirements:
●    Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration/Management, or a related field.
●    At least three (3) years of nonprofit management experience, including business acumen and financial sustainability (i.e. budgeting, financial forecasting and workforce management).
●    At least three (3) years of demonstrated success in fundraising, including grant writing, donor relations, and community partnership development.
●    A visionary thinker with a collaborative leadership style who is able to empower and engage employees to successfully execute the long-term mission and strategic initiatives.
●    Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with experience in media relations, public speaking and storytelling.
●    Excellent ability to partner with and influence the Board of Directors, staff and external community stakeholders to foster strong relationships and gain commitment to accomplish goals.
●    Commitment to building high performing teams; proven success attracting, leading, and engaging diverse teams. 
●    Demonstrated change management skills with ability to successfully transform an organization while delivering superior results.


Applicants will strengthen their qualifications with:
●    Experience in an Executive Director/Management role.
●    Expertise in women’s issues, particularly in generational poverty and education.
●    Experience in change management and crisis management.
●    Bilingual in Spanish and English.
●    Lived experience in systems of care, BIPOC, trans, non-binary, and LGBTQ+.

○    Expected Timeline:
■    September 9, 2024: Executive Director position posted
■    October 1, 2024 - November 15, 2024: Application review and interviews take place with top candidates
■    December 1, 2024: New Executive Director hired and onboarding with Interim Executive Director
