The mission of the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix is to present choral music that entertains and adds cultural value to Arizona Communities by delivering quality performances and engaging in outreach activities while providing a rewarding experience for members.

The purpose of this board position is to support that mission.

Board members will aid and support the artistic endeavors by facilitating the availability of adequate resources, sharing fiduciary responsibilities for the organization and assuring legal and ethical accountability.

At this time, we are looking for candidates who will be willing to take an Officer position within two years.

Principal Duties:

• Serve on at least one committee.
• Attend and fully participate in board meetings and functions.
• Introduce new donors and audience members to Orpheus.
• Prepare for meetings by reviewing materials in advance.
• Promote the mission, services, programs and events for Orpheus.
• Follow all policies, including conflict of interest and confidentiality. 
• Hold self and others accountable for delivering on commitments.
• Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities by reviewing the Orpheus monthly and annual financial statements and sharing any concerns or suggestions regarding the financial health of the organization.
• Donate financially to meet obligations as defined.

• A passion for Orpheus and choral music.
• Non-profit board experience preferred.
• Ability to commit time and resources to support Orpheus (3-7 hours per month).
• Willingness to participate in cultivating donors and soliciting funds for Orpheus.
• Honesty and integrity.
• Ready to help find solutions to problems that arise.
