Public Allies Arizona cohort celebrates Martin Luther King Day with service; Allies interviewed for local TV news
January 22, 2019 (Mesa, Ariz.) – The Public Allies Arizona 2018-2019 Cohort partnered with the Diversity Office of the City of Mesa and Zen Nights for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service yesterday. Allies served in various capacities throughout the event such as assisting with the parade and vendor/organization booths and facilitating the youth activities center. Here is a short clip of two Allies, Iyamidé May and Brandon Vickers, being interviewed by Channel 12 during yesterday’s event.
Since 2006, Public Allies Arizona at the ASU Lodestar Center has placed service-minded young people in 10-month internships at local nonprofit organizations.
