Border Philanthropy Partnership marks 10th anniversary with panel in San Diego, moderated by Dr. Robert F. Ashcraft

January 18, 2019 (San Diego, Calif.) – As part of the events celebrating the 10th anniversary of the US-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership (BPP), a panel of specialists in philanthropy was held, featuring funding organizations that participated in the development of this important organization with headquarters in San Diego.

Panel participants included: Linetta Gilbert, former Program Officer of the Ford Foundation; Laura M. Speer, Deputy Director of Promotion and Reform of Policies of the Annie E. Casey Foundation; and Nick Deychakiwsky, Program Officer of the C.S. Mott Foundation.

"Now, in this time of so much news about the border, is the time to carry out actions with creativity and innovation," said Speer.

The panel, which discussed the great actions that nonprofit organizations carry out in the United States-Mexico border region, was moderated by Robert F. Ashcraft, former chair of the Board of Directors of BPP and executive director of the ASU Lodestar Center.

Andy Carey, executive director of BPP, welcomed more than 100 special guests along with Enrique Díaz Rivera, current chair of the Board of Directors of the United States-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership.
