Are you a cause-orientated individual who enjoys working on behalf of children, helping them realize their potential and equipping them to succeed? Do you want a job that is meaningful, challenging, gratifying, and allows you the opportunity to impact tens of thousands of kids each year? Do you believe that through education we can break cycles of poverty and help children to own their future?

Working for Junior Achievement is all that and more. Join us as we empower the future.

Come join an amazing team of passionate people! For over 65 years, Junior Achievement has been shaping the future by giving Arizona’s youth the skills needed to succeed in work and life. We care about the work we do and the people we do it alongside. As a team, we go the extra mile and are committed to preparing students to succeed!

We are looking for a new member to join our team of Program Managers that has a natural ability to problem-solve, lead, and work well within a team. You’ll work full-time helping the team to coordinate with education institutions and the community to implement our curriculum for either our in classroom or online programs, which foster growth and development through better understanding of money management, the economy, and career pathing. You’ll be comfortable discussing or presenting about our company or our program via the phone, online, or in person. You'll recruit and manage volunteers and are comfortable with last minute changes. We’ll want you to think big, we’ll want you to think small, and sometimes we’ll just want you to do it. Some days are a breeze, some days a little harder; every day you and your teammates will be changing lives.

Qualifications

  • Your attitude toward work, youth, your co-workers and the people you come in contact with through our programs are first class. Even in the most trying of times, you maintain a positive attitude, and you don’t believe in impossible.

  • Ability to perform, organize, and prioritize multi-level tasks in a fast-paced environment while dealing with interruptions from teachers, volunteers, or co-workers.

  • You are game to jump in and help whenever and however needed. When fires break out, everybody grabs a bucket, from the dogs (yes, we have dogs visiting our office!) to our President!

  • You are a great juggler with fantastic follow through. No detail is too small or too big, each part is important to the big picture/experience.

  • Computer literacy with Microsoft office proficiency is a MUST.

  • MUST be comfortable speaking in front of small and large groups. Can you project your voice and take charge when needed? Networking amongst new people does not intimidate you.

  • You are willing to step up and lead when necessary or follow when appropriate. You can adapt, problem-solve and adjust.

  • You have strong communication and persuasion skills and provide exceptional customer service and communications internally and externally. You can keep organized and on top of long and short range goals and tasks.

  • Following our companies strategic plans you can implement program sustainability and growth by using mail, e-mail, phone, school visits, community events/functions. You understand we are all ambassadors for the mission and are excited to talk about JA and to help grow it in the community.

  • Team oriented. We all succeed together!

  • You are comfortable dealing with technology, including quickly learning new computer programs, troubleshooting basic issues, and helping walk teacher, volunteers, or students through issues via the phone.

  • You accurately and efficiently track, enter, and analyze programmatic data

  • Good working personal vehicle required for Metro area traveling, including the delivery of program materials when needed. Minimum ability to lift and carry 40lbs. Light and periodic in state travelling required. Mileage reimbursement based on IRS guidelines.

  • Hybrid work environment available with at least 60% of time in our Tempe office or onsite program location required. This position helps to prep programmatic materials, which must be done in office.

  • This position helps to lead volunteers, but does not manage other staff.

  • Due to our work with children, all employees must pass a background check.
