JOB SUMMARY:
The Outreach Advocate is a hybrid position responsible for providing comprehensive trauma-informed advocacy and case management to adult survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through New Life Center's Outreach Department. This position has multiple locations to include New Life Center Healing Center, New Life Center Shelter, and in the community based on the survivor's needs. The predominate location is the New Life Healing Center with no remote work available.
This position will also work closely with the Prevention Manager to support internal and external prevention awareness, education, and outreach.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Direct Services
- Provide trauma-informed and culturally relevant advocacy, case management, and education to all survivors and their families including women, men, children, LGBTQ+, and survivors of diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
- Facilitate survivor support groups and activities.
- Provide information, referral and assistance related to victim rights.
- Accompany survivors when interacting with members of the legal system, including law enforcement, courts, and prosecutors. This includes law enforcement coordination if/when a survivor wishes to file a police report.
- Assist with victim advocacy/accompaniment to emergency medical care and/or medical forensic examinations.
- Assess level and history of violence experienced and aids in the development of a safety plan for survivors.
- Assess survivor's immediate needs and develops a case plan with referrals to services, which align with the survivor's goals.
- Provide information and referrals to legal aid agencies and/or agencies specializing in immigration, child abuse, elder abuse, and/or disabilities.
- Responsible for documentation, monitoring, and reporting of services in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
- Assist in other programs as needed.
Community Engagement and Outreach
- Participate in Public awareness and education in schools, community centers, and other public forums that are designed to inform victims of specific rights and services and provide them with (or refer them to) services and assistance.
- Assist in researching and establishing appropriate locations for community outreach and youth dating violence prevention programming.
- Contribute to the development of a communication/social media plan to build awareness and promote prevention messaging, including content creation (social media posts, reels, etc.).
- Conduct outreach to youth, educators, and community organizations to raise awareness about relationship violence and available NLC prevention programming.
- Participate in agency-wide awareness and/or initiates awareness and outreach events throughout Maricopa County.
- Lend creativity and skill to enhance agency outreach.
Collaboration
- Work closely with other advocates and staff to ensure consistency in services to support survivors.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve program delivery and community engagement.
- Collaborate with the team to assess the impact of outreach efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
- Work with community partners to provide holistic healing options and culturally specific healing modalities to survivors at NLC Healing Services.
- Attend and participate in community partner meetings, task forces, meetings as needed.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to make meaningful contributions.
- Cultivate relationships with community partners and allied professions with the goal of facilitating a coordinated community response to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
Agency Management
- Participate as an active member of the Outreach team, including working in collaboration with all New Life Center Departments and attending relevant organizational and community meetings and events as assigned.
- Report all emergencies, concerns, and organizational needs to the direct supervisor.
- Actively contribute to New Life Center's trauma informed philosophy and uphold New Life Center's mission, vision, and core values.
- Interact professionally with program participants, staff, volunteers, and community representatives.
- Share in responsibility for cleanliness and appearance of all New Life Center's buildings and property.
Other
- Help in building a culture of cooperation and collaboration among New Life Center staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Support and adhere to all policies regarding participant and program confidentiality.
- Keep current on issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking including seeking out appropriate training opportunities.
- Ensure the regular use of releases of information (ROI) when coordinating services with outside partner agencies.
- Assist in organizing and storing Prevention education and outreach materials.
- Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in social work, women and gender studies, social justice, education, psychology, or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in the areas of domestic/sexual violence, dating violence, advocacy, peer mentoring, and/or bullying prevention.
- Knowledge of community organizing, education, classroom management, group facilitation, and/or working with youth.
- Valid Arizona driver's license and insurance.
- Currently possess, or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance**
- CPR/1st Aid Certified. **
- Knowledge of personal computers and various software programs including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.
