HandsOn Greater Phoenix is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that puts volunteers to work where they are needed most.  We offer fun, impactful and diverse ways for people to give back to their communities.  This includes an active volunteer event calendar, support for local schools and organizations, customized service projects for teams and businesses, and now a board matching tool. HandsOn Greater Phoenix is an affiliate of Points of Light, an innovative global alliance of volunteer organizations working to build community through service and civic engagement across the United States and abroad.

Position Overview:

The Board Connect Program Manager is a unique blend of both technical and relational skill sets. You will be responsible for leading the implementation of a new web-based board matching tool that connects Arizona community and business leaders to meaningful board positions with Arizona-based nonprofit organizations.  This program is being launched in early 2025 in partnership with Vitalyst Foundation, Flinn Foundation and their Leadership Collaborative.  With the launch of the platform, this role will involve a high degree of marketing/outreach, extensive collaboration with program partners, platform knowledge acquisition and finally, the ability to support others around technology use. This position will work both independently and collaboratively with other team members to ensure successful program implementation and sustained momentum.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attain and maintain a proficient knowledge of the board connect tool (Salesforce platform.)
  • Plan, organize and lead outreach efforts to create awareness around this new community resource.
  • Cultivate new and maintain existing relationships with corporate and nonprofit partners to encourage initial and continued use of the board connect tool.
  • Develop a collaboration and communication cadence with program partners (Vitalyst, Flinn and Leadership Collaborative)
  • Facilitate recruitment and training meetings, both in-person and virtually.
  • Provide tech/tool support to both prospective board members and organizations seeking board members.
  • Serve as a liaison between prospective board members and nonprofits seeking qualified board members to support successful matches.
  • Develop and complete program metrics and evaluation tools to measure program success.
  • Research and benchmark other board matching tools around the country to build best practices.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives and special projects as needed/requested

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to pass a background clearance
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance
  • Three years nonprofit experience, community service experience or national service a plus
  • Some knowledge of nonprofit board structures
  • High level of computer proficiency with Microsoft Office/Mac environment
  • Excellent time manager

Physical Work Environment:

  • Will occasionally work irregular hours including evenings and weekends
  • Will occasionally support other HandsOn program initiatives that could lead to Board Connect connections.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $43,000 to $57,000, based on experience. Our excellent benefits package includes, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, 401k with employer match, generous PTO and potential for hybrid work (up to two days/week).
