UCP of Central Arizona has an exciting internship opportunity available in our Development department supporting the Marketing efforts within UCP. The internship is available for college credit and is open to all undergraduates and/or graduate students and also open to community members who are desiring to gain knowledge in the field of social media and content marketing within the non-profit sector. The person in this position will be guided by and work closely with the Marketing Manager to support the needs of the overall department. 

About Development at UCP

At UCP, the Marketing & Development Department promotes UCP’s mission and strengthens UCP’s presence in the community by utilizing social media platforms, creative designs, and compelling imagery, with a content-rich and engaging environment. The department is meant to grow UCP’s audience, promote engagement, particularly for parents, and encourage supporters to respond to calls to action through donating or engaging in advocacy

The intern will be responsible for activities and projects that will advance the efforts of the Marketing and Development activities at UCP of Central Arizona.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Management

  • Create and implement social media tactics to increase audiences in UCP’s current social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Develop communication strategies to improve user engagement and drive action across all major platforms.
  • Possess knowledge of current trends on each social media platform in order to utilize platform engagement
  • Coordinate social media content, including planning, scheduling, and posting.
  • Maintain daily contact with our followers through commenting and liking for personalized engagement.
  • Follow and engage with local businesses and nonprofits for the purpose of establishing and maintaining relationships

2.  Content Marketing

  • Create engaging and informative content for all platforms including podcasts, videos, social media, and more.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights necessary for content creation.
  • Plan, research, and prepare for podcasts that effectively communicate UCP’s message
  • Monitor and analyze content performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience with short-form video content styling and editing.
  • Photo and video experience (skills desired but not required)

           

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:  Must be enrolled in a four-year accredited institution, demonstrate excellent academic progress, and active university student status. Majors should be in Community Resources Development, Marketing, Public Relations, Non-profit Development, Fund Development, Communications, or related majors. Intern can also be an interested member of the community seeking to gain marketing or fundraising experience in the non-profit sector.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Strong written and excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interest in the nonprofit sector.
  • Must be proficient in video platform conferencing
  • Must have access to the internet and a device that supports MS Office
  • Enthusiastic about learning.
  • Experience in using and managing social media.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new assignments and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Must be willing to sign a nondisclosure agreement.
  • Must be able to commit to 10-15 hours per week for 3-6 months or the length of a semester.
  • Must have own transportation and daily access to vehicle
