About Hope Ignites Phoenix

The mission of Hope Ignites Phoenix is to nurture and guide motived young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others.

Its objective is to serve promising, highly motivated children-in need with educational scholarships, academic support, enrichment opportunities, and the resources scholars need to reach their full academic potential. Through Hope Ignites Phoenix, scholars gain access to the resources and support necessary to attain a college degree, become true leaders in their communities, and break the generational cycle of poverty for themselves and their families.  

General Description

The Development Coordinator supports Hope Ignites Phoenix’s fundraising and development activities with an emphasis on donor data, volunteer engagement, relationship management and special campaigns. The Development Coordinator creates and stewards relationships with community supporters through outreach, personal engagement and coordination of data and correspondence. Working closely with the executive director and development director, the Development Coordinator has an integral role in advancing Hope Ignites Phoenix’s mission through effective fundraising and donor stewardship. The successful candidate will be someone who will take personal and professional pride in working for an organization with a great reputation that provides programs to the scholars of Hope Ignites Phoenix!

Specific Duties

Donor Database - SalesForce
•    To ensure the integrity of the Hope Ignites Phoenix’s donor database, the Development Coordinator will promptly enter gift information, update donor records, generate data reports to maximize use of donor information and provide excellent donor stewardship.  
•    Work closely with Director of Philanthropy and Executive Director to create quality and timely donor thank you letters, reports and other ongoing donor correspondence.

Volunteer Program Management
•    Coordinate volunteer recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and recognition activities.
•    Support the growth of the Hope Ignites Phoenix community volunteer program through outreach and relationship building.
•    Work with program staff to facilitate volunteer opportunities and ensure positive volunteer experiences.
•    Secure tutors and mentors for Hope Ignites Phoenix scholars.
•    Assist with volunteer stewardship and recognition efforts.

Hope Ignites Phoenix Associate Board Liaison
•    Provide administrative and logistical support to the Hope Ignites Phoenix Associate Board, a young professionals board that engages emerging leaders in fundraising, volunteerism, and community awareness, by serving as a liaison between members and Hope Ignites Phoenix staff and leadership.
•    Provide the board with collateral and information to build leadership, confidence and motivation to represent Hope Ignites Phoenix to the greater Phoenix community. 
•    Provide Associate Board with meaningful scholar interactions to deepen the connection with Hope Ignites Phoenix.
•    Support the Associate Board Casino Night.

Walk to Hope
•    Coordinates with Network Headquarters team regarding event details and updates for the Hope Ignites Phoenix Walk to Hope virtual fundraising event.
•    Supports efforts to secure sponsorships, corporate teams, and individual participants for the event. 
•    Supports communication as needed.

Special Campaigns 
•    Support workplace giving and in-kind donation initiatives through coordination, communication, and tracking.
•    Maintain and update organizational wish lists.
•    Assist in identifying community groups interested in hosting donation drives.
•    Ensure accurate tracking and acknowledgement of in-kind gifts.
•    Provide support for special purpose or seasonal campaigns

Social Media/Communications
•    Coordinate social media content and scheduling across organizational channels.
•    Collaborate with program staff to gather stories, photos, and content for communications and donor engagement.
•    Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Canva, Meta Business Suite and email marketing platforms (Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, or similar) preferred.

Other Duties 
•    Working closely with the executive director, director of philanthropy, volunteers, staff and other constituents, generally support the various fundraising, development and PR needs of the Hope Ignites Phoenix organization in order to meet revenue and organizational goals.
•    Hope Ignites Phoenix is a small, privately funded organization relying on a competent, motivated staff to accomplish its mission of nurturing and guiding motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others. This requires flexibility and willingness of all staff members to occasionally participate in other duties as assigned.  
 

Qualifications

Working Conditions
•    Must have valid AZ driver’s license and ability to transport scholars as needed, complete errands including lifting/transporting up to 40 pounds. 
•    Must pass state and federal background checks, drug testing, and other screening required for working with youth
•    This position is expected to maintain an onsite presence to support staff and scholars. Any remote work arrangements are subject to performance expectations and organizational needs.

Experience & Skills Required
•    1-3 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit administration, volunteer engagement, events, or related field preferred.
•    Experience supporting events, volunteers, donor relations, or community engagement activities preferred.
•    Experience with database management and Sales Force CRM desired
•    Ability to be highly organized and detail oriented.
•    Strong computer/software skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
•    Appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information
•    Ability to convey and support the mission of Hope Ignites Phoenix effectively and passionately
•    Experience developing community partnerships and resources
•    Ability to communicate and collaborate with various and diverse members of our community
•    Professional appearance, attitude and representation of Hope Ignites Phoenix necessary at all times
•    Demonstrated experience in building and stewarding effective community relationships
