The Arizona State University Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation named 34 participants to its annual American Express Leadership Academy.

The Academy, in its 10th year, is a nine-month program to educate the up-and-coming leaders in the nonprofit world to take on increasing roles in the nonprofit world.

"Our history of developing leaders of and for the nonprofit and philanthropic sector through our Academy design is unmatched," said Robert Ashcraft, executive director of the ASU Lodestar Center and Saguaro Professor of Civic Enterprise with the School of Community Resources and Development at ASU. "Equally impressive is the ongoing partnership we’ve enjoyed with the American Express Foundation because together we improve communities in ways not otherwise possible."

The class is one of the largest in the program's history and comes from a variety of backgrounds. The programing is funded through the American Express Foundation.
