The Donor Database Manager is the main point of contact, caring for approximately 57,000 constituent records. This position maintains the development database (Raiser’s Edge), manages the receipt and acknowledgement of contributions, and monitors the status of development activities. The Donor Database Manager provides appropriate data analysis, and reports and assists with list generation as needed.
Prior experience with Raiser's Edge is preferred.  

In addition, the Donor Database Manager will implement protocols for database management and assist other staff in basic database entry and usage, and support development focused activities. Primary responsibilities include direct mail campaigns and managing relationships for annual and reoccurring donors. As needed, the Donor Database Manager will serve as a representative of Habitat for Humanity Tucson during fundraising events, dedications, and outreach events, effectively communicating our mission to the public. 

Qualifications

  • Serve as point-of-contact for the public and provide a positive experience to charitable giving inquiries over the phone or in person at the administrative office.
  • Responsible for basic writing, proofreading and revision to ensure development correspondence is neat, well-formatted, personalized, and engaging.
  • Maintain and develop Raiser’s Edge database and care for donor records ensuring accuracy of information.
  • Support development efforts to increase funding by providing data for direct mail and digital campaigns, as well as fundraising and stewardship activities.
  • Cultivate and steward annual fund donors to increase donor retention.
  • Serve as the lead for Blackbaud, including keeping current with updates, training and new features. Keep senior staff informed and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Monitor status of all development activities and provide appropriate analysis and reporting.
  • Implement protocols for database management, assist other staff and oversee volunteers in basic database entry and usage.
  • Manage the receipt and acknowledgement of contributions for individuals, corporations, and foundations with understanding of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations between Development and Finance teams with the Controller.
  • Provide reports and mailing labels/lists, as needed.
  • Provide support as Board of Directors staff liaison, take notes, prepare materials and pick up food for in-person meetings.
  • Maintain electronic and physical files including records for Legacy Donors.
  • Excellent research skills and resourcefulness required.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

     

Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in or equivalent experience.
  • Two years in a nonprofit organization with fund development and database experience.
  • Experience coordinating processes/procedures with fellow employees and supervising volunteers.
  • Experience with standard office equipment and software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and web-based technologies. Donor database experience required; Raiser’s Edge preferred.

Other necessities: 

  • Valid Arizona driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Occasional travel in the Tucson area.
  • This position is regarded as full time (40 hours per week). Work is usually performed between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required to perform the job and may include some evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen upon receiving an offer.
