The Program Support Specialist supports the mission and values of Hope Ignites Phoenix by assisting with the operational and programmatic needs of the Scholar Success Program during the school year and summer programming. This role provides program support, direct services to scholars, assistance with academic success initiatives, community engagement activities, and administrative and data entry tasks that ensure efficient and compliant program operations. 

Working in collaboration with Program Managers, staff, and volunteers, the Program Support Specialist directly assists scholars by participating in youth transportation, monitoring academic progress, completing accurate and timely data entry, and co-facilitating programming activities with High School and Middle School scholars as needed. 

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred 
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with youth in an educational or community-based setting 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and data entry skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, volunteers, and community partners 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion 
  • Comfortable driving and navigating a 15-passenger van 
  • Proficiency with computers and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with databases or student information systems preferred 
  • Professional appearance, attitude, and representation of Hope Ignites Phoenix at all times 
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to lift/transport up to 40 pounds 
  • Successful completion of all required state and federal background checks
