Camelback Kiwanis Endowed Scholarship
Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship is to assist an outstanding student who has demonstrated leadership potential in the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance program and who has interest in and shows promise for a career in nonprofit youth and human service leadership and management with expenses associated with pursuing his/her degree.
Award: A cash award is provided dependent upon annual ASU Foundation earnings and eligible payout amount. The award is made possible through the generosity of members of the Camelback Kiwanis Club and, in particular, Mr. Bruce Thoeny, a champion of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance/ASU.
Criteria: Student selected must:
- Be enrolled in classes as a full-time ASU student, in good standing (application on file), during the spring semester.
- Be an active participant in the NLASA and working toward fulfillment of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance certification (Certified Nonprofit Professional).
- Demonstrate promise for a career in nonprofit leadership and management.
- Have demonstrated a true passion and commitment for the mission of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance through participation in the NLASA and service to the community (particularly with Nonprofit Leadership Alliance partner agencies).
- Have the respect of their professors.
Selection: In accordance with the wishes of the donor, the selection of the student recipient of this scholarship is made by a scholarship committee consisting of faculty, alumni and community members. Nominations of qualifying students may be made by faculty/staff of the program.
Deadline: All applications are due March 15, 2024, by 11:59 p.m.
