Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the association's educational programs, aligning them with the mission and vision of the organization.

Educational Program Management: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of various educational offerings, including seminars, workshops, webinars, online courses, and conferences for veterinarians, veterinary students, veterinary technicians, and other allied professionals.

Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure that all educational programs meet accreditation requirements and maintain compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and industry standards.

Continuing Education: Establish and maintain a robust continuing education program, enabling members to enhance their knowledge, skills, and professional development throughout their careers.

Member Engagement: Work closely with association members to understand their educational needs and preferences, ensuring that the educational programs meet their expectations and support their career growth.

Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify and cultivate partnerships with industry experts, educational institutions, and veterinary organizations to expand the association's educational network and resources.

Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the education department's budget, allocating resources efficiently to achieve educational goals and objectives.

Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor the effectiveness and impact of educational programs through feedback, surveys, and assessment metrics. Use this data to continually improve the quality and relevance of educational offerings.

Technology Integration: Embrace and integrate technology into educational programs, utilizing e-learning platforms, online resources, and other digital tools to enhance accessibility and engagement.

Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote educational events and initiatives, increasing participation and visibility within the veterinary community.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education: An associate's degree or certification related to event planning is recommended. Additional qualifications in education, instructional design, or adult learning are advantageous.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and managing educational programs, preferably in the veterinary or healthcare sector. Previous leadership and team management experience is desirable.

Subject Matter Expertise: A strong understanding of veterinary medicine, animal health, and the challenges faced by veterinary professionals is essential, but not required.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for collaborating with diverse stakeholders, preparing educational materials, and writing reports.

Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead volunteers and motivate a committee, delegate responsibilities, and foster a positive and innovative work environment. Manage an education and allied affiliate committee. 

Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated capability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with organizational goals and enhance the value of educational offerings.

Networking and Relationship Building: Strong networking and relationship-building skills to establish partnerships with key stakeholders in the veterinary and education communities.

Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with educational technology, learning management systems, and online course delivery platforms is advantageous. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Zoom, and familiar with common Association Management Software.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.

Adaptability: Must be flexible and adaptable to changing industry trends, technologies, and educational needs. Willingness to work a few weekend days a year to host events. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when setting up for events.
