This is a full-time position that requires working a flexible schedule which can include nights, weekends, and holidays. Salary will be discussed during the screening process.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing & Communications Manager manages all external communications and marketing efforts for SWCC. This highly creative and strategic role supports fundraising and public engagement through compelling storytelling and consistent brand messaging. Responsibilities include social media management, digital content creation, photography, website updates, public relations, event promotion, branding, donor communications, and marketing-based partnerships.
This position serves as the voice of SWCC, with a mission to inspire and educate the local community, and beyond, about wildlife and the importance of coexistence in an ever-changing world. The role promotes and supports fundraising efforts while increasing community awareness of SWCC’s work. It combines education and storytelling, sharing the journeys of animals that come through SWCC and highlighting the organization’s impact in promoting peaceful coexistence with wildlife.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and create engaging content for social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube
- Create marketing materials including, but not limited to: weekly newsletter, quarterly fundraising appeals, website content, email campaigns, annual Impact Report, electronic Don Coyote Society magazine, event invitations, press releases, blog posts and animal rescue stories among others
- Write, solicit and coordinate PR coverage with media outlets
- Analyze and report data from website and social media channels
- Design collateral materials including brochures, posters, presentations and graphics
- Manage and update SWCC website in Word Press
- Create and edit video content for social media and other marketing purposes
- Photograph and/or film animals for stories on social media channels, marketing campaigns, website and storytelling
- Produce the collateral material for fundraising events and provide on-site support during events
- Establish and manage promotional partnerships with local businesses and organizations

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent experience
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Experience managing and/or developing content for a brand account on social media
- Experience with Canva, Word Press and Meta Business Suite
- Experience in marketing, copywriting, or other content production and knowledge of marketing practices and principles
- Ability to create and edit graphics or print and digital media
- Experience with social media, content creation, SEO, writing, graphic design, videography/photography, editing
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
2-4 years of administrative or marketing experience
