Position description
Position Summary
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive of Sunshine Service, responsible for organizational leadership, administration, community relations, fiscal management, and program oversight. This is an on-site, hands-on position for a leader who thrives in a small, mission-driven environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership and Governance
- Collaborate with the Board to steer mission, strategy, and organizational goals.
- Ensure transparent communication and effective governance.
Operations and Finance
- Oversee daily operations, staff, and budgets.
- Maintain compliance, financial stewardship, and operational efficiency.
Marketing and Community Relations
- Promote awareness through events, speaking engagements, and collaborations
- Represent Sunshine Service to civic groups, healthcare organizations, and donors
- Oversee website, communications, and social media presence
Lead fundraising efforts including donor relations, and grant development
Human Resources
- Recruit, train, and manage staff members
- Build a positive, accountable, and collaborative culture

Sunshine Service, Inc. is a nonprofit lending closet providing durable medical equipment (DME) to individuals in need throughout the Sun City area. For over 50 years, we’ve served as a trusted community partner helping residents maintain independence and quality of life.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3–5 years in nonprofit or healthcare leadership
- Experience in senior services, home care, or social services preferred
- Strong knowledge of West Valley healthcare, social services and senior living organizations preferred
- Marketing and community outreach expertise
- Strong financial management and administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficiency with MS Office, Zoom, website management, and social media platforms
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs and hold a valid driver’s license
