ASU Lodestar Center Leadership Council welcomes three new nonprofit leaders

The ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation is proud to welcome three new members to its Leadership Council this fall: Michelle Gayles, Christine Thompson and Glenn Wike. These champions of the nonprofit and philanthropic community will help guide the ASU Lodestar Center as it educates, empowers and connects leaders in the sector.

Michelle Gayles joined the Arizona Community Foundation as Chief Impact Officer in July 2024. In her role, Gayles will oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at fostering statewide growth and community impact. Her responsibilities will include guiding fund development, supporting the ACF regional team and statewide partners, enhancing the donor experience, overseeing community engagement and grantmaking efforts, forging strategic partnerships, and leading marketing and communications outreach in alignment with ACF’s strategic plan.

Christine M. Thompson currently serves as Director of the Arizona Together for Impact Fund, a statewide initiative supporting and encouraging formal collaboration and partnerships among nonprofits. She is an experienced leader in the nonprofit and government sectors, with a passion for civic engagement.

Glenn Wike began his tenure as President & CEO of the Burton Family Foundation in September 2023. An Arizona-based philanthropy established in 2015, the foundation primarily invests in youth, education, and human services organizations across Arizona, with an emphasis on supporting organizations serving high need, underserved, and underrepresented communities. In his role, Glenn manages the foundation’s grantmaking initiatives and develops new strategies and partnerships for deploying resources in communities across Arizona. He most recently served as Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President for Community Investment at the Arizona Community Foundation (ACF). Prior to ACF, Glenn was employed with the Phoenix Zoo.
