ASU Lodestar Center launches inaugural cohort of its CoGenerational Service Academy
January 18, 2023 — This week the ASU Lodestar Center launched the inaugural cohort of the ASU CoGenerational Service Academy, a new kind of volunteer program where each participant partners up with a passionate individual from a different generation. Together they will design their own service project, discover the power of multi-generational work, and learn how we can all collaborate to do more for local communities when we bridge the gaps and embrace our differences.
Over the next five months, the cross-generational partners will develop and execute a collaborative service project with assistance from a nonprofit organization operating in the space. Participants receive a $500 stipend and commit to 35-40 hours of work on their project.
At this first meeting of the cohort, the participants met each other, learned context about different generations, and laid the groundwork for successful collaboration.
