The Nonprofit Operations and Program Impact Certificate is a certificate of distinction for individuals who wish to gain additional knowledge and skills in operational leadership, program impact and evaluation, developing volunteers, purposeful communication and more! Course content includes the most highly relevant topics needed to manage the operations of a nonprofit organization, as well as how to design, launch and evaluate effective programs that matter to the community. This certificate program is sharply focused on these topics in order to offer the individual a deeply engaging and robust experience.

Maximizing Human Potential in Nonprofits

This course will provide participants with a foundation for human resource management, including complying with federal and state employment laws as well as compensation systems. In addition, you will learn practical and lawful strategies to develop human resource policies and job descriptions, retention strategies, and appropriate staffing structures.

Engaging and Developing Volunteers

In this course, participants will learn how to recruit, manage, motivate, recognize, and reward staff and volunteers in order to effectively utilize their strengths. In addition, volunteer programs require the same type of managerial effort that any other program effort would require and there are many factors to consider in ensuring that the experience is positive for both the volunteer and the organization.

Analyzing for Program Impact

Doing good works is no longer enough. In today’s environment of growing demand, competing priorities and shrinking resources, a leader needs to ensure that the organization is having the desired impact.

Decisions about where and how to focus resources so that the desired impact is created must be grounded in evaluation of the organization’s strategies and programs. This course covers the design and implementation of an evaluation system that produces valid, credible and useful information that can be used to assess an organization’s impact.
