OVERVIEW:

The Lifestyle Coordinator plays an essential role in developing adult & youth: fitness classes, health & wellness classes, outdoor activities, path & trail programs, racquet sports, and resident-led clubs. The coordinator should be an enthusiastic professional who can anticipate program/project needs, discern work priorities, meet deadlines, speak to groups, and provide outstanding customer service. This position will implement key initiatives and organizational processes that support the success of the Community Council Team. The Lifestyle Coordinator complements events and programs and works in collaboration with the Events and Recreation Team members.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, plan, promote and execute a comprehensive year-round community calendar for adult and youth recreational programs, resident-led clubs, and other specialty programs for residents in the community centers, community parks, paths & trails and offsite locations.
  • Plan and implement path and trail system programming via outreach initiatives and/or partnerships, including activities such as hikes and presentations.
  • Create, coordinate and support for resident-led clubs, groups, and committees including establishing & onboarding new clubs, promoting, scheduling, collaborating with the lead, and tracking goals.
  • Responsible for program preparation and other logistics, including set-up, breakdown, and ensuring all program/facilities needs are met.
  • Seek out and develop unique partnerships and creative programming opportunities that compare to those available in the marketplace or offered by local municipalities.
  • Coordinate and oversee all components of program registration, utilizing recreation software to manage registrations and communicate pertinent registration numbers to team members, maintain waitlists, and track relevant statistics.
  • Actively solicit feedback from program participants to ensure that program offerings meet desired objectives.
  • Provide ongoing assessment and evaluation of programs and services.
  • Assist team members with projects and programs as necessary/requested including logistics, set-up and breakdown.
  • Seek proposals from service providers, develop partnership/service contracts and provide contract oversight for vendors following the vendor process.
  • Respond to questions and suggestions and resolve concerns or complaints from residents’ individuals and groups.
  • Assist with creating, forecasting, monitoring and allocating various budgets.
  • Maintain awareness of new industry trend developments and best practices in the parks and recreation field.
  • Work cohesively with the Communications Team in developing content for community communications – website, newsletters, promotional materials, social media accounts, etc.
  • Actively contribute ideas and creativity to constantly improve the programs, events, and activities of the DC Ranch Community Council.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of our community centers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Customer service and general office procedures/operations in Microsoft Office
  • Night and weekend work is common
  • This job requires the ability to:
      • bending, twisting, crouching, or kneeling during maintenance activities
      • moving furniture, equipment and heavy objects weighing up to 74 lbs.
      • pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
      • climbing stairs/ladders, working at heights
      • working in temperatures above 100˚

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year college degree, Recreational Management, or related field preferable, or industry training/experience equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in progressively responsible positions
  • Experience working with industry standard recreation software
  • Direct experience in programming for all ages to include planning, logistics or similar roles
