Terry Hines began working at the Child Crisis Center in 1985. While earning her undergraduate degree, she was assigned to the Center to gain practical experience—this initial placement would become her employer for years to come. Beginning as the receptionist, she ended her thirty year career serving as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer. Hines earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.
While serving as COO at the Child Crisis Center, Terry supervised programs serving more than 5,000 children and families, annually. Terry also oversaw contracts and licensing, grants and human resources. Additionally, she staffed Board Committees and managed the development and implementation of the most recent Strategic Plan for Child Crisis Center. She finished her time with the Center overseeing the business and programmatic integration of the Child Crisis Center and Phoenix Crisis Nursery merge.
In 2012 Terry was named a Piper Fellow by the Virginia G Piper Charitable Trust. During her year as Piper Fellow, Terry had the opportunity to visit non-profit organizations across the country, as well as train and study with the Center for Creative Leadership and the Disney Institute.
