The NMI currently offers several certificates to nonprofit professionals, including the Nonprofit Management Certificate, the Grant Proposal Certificate, and the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Certificate.
This certificate is designed to meet the professional needs of today’s nonprofit professional. A variety of instructional methods are used to provide engaging, practice-oriented learning experiences that are focused on knowledge, skills, and techniques that can immediately be implemented. Courses may also be taken as stand-alone courses simply register and pay for each class as your schedule permits. Upon successful completion of all courses in the program, participants will receive a Nonprofit Management Certificate from the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation.
Courses required for this certificate are offered both in-person and online.
Participants may complete their certificate through either delivery method, or a combination of the two.
This certificate is designed for individuals who wish to write a grant proposal for their organization. The Grant Development and Proposal Writing Certificate will increase your confidence to secure grant funding by learning how to develop a conceptual framework for seeking grant funding that aligns with perspectives and priorities unique to each funder, instilling confidence in your organization’s ability to facilitate a proposed project.
This certificate is designed to meet the professional needs of senior level management / executives of nonprofit and public organizations. The curriculum is designed in a cohort format to promote skill-building and peer networking among seasoned leaders. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a Nonprofit Executive Leadership Certificate from the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. Facilitators are current and former CEOs and executive directors of nonprofit organizations with a vast amount of combined experience as change-making practitioners in the field. A variety of instructional methods are used to provide engaging, practice-oriented learning experiences that are focused on knowledge, skills, and techniques that can immediately be implemented.

This certificate is designed to develop capacity in nonprofits in such a way that:
- Nonprofits are ready to embrace a learning culture throughout the management of their social programs.
- Nonprofit staff has the needed knowledge to measure the success of their own programs: develop internal capability with basic and intermediate quantitative and qualitative knowledge to plan for program performance measurement.
Before the start of the course, participants will assess their own knowledge as well as to assess their organization’s capacity for performance management.
At the end of the course, participants will evaluate their level of knowledge according to each courses objective, and will be requested to re-evaluate their organization’s capacity on the context of the new material learned in the course.
