In this course, participants examine the topic of communication and its influence on the recipient. Participants review foundational communication concepts and explore additional topics including, verbal vs. nonverbal communication, communication style, self-awareness, and listening to advance their knowledge and ability to engage in purposeful communication.

NMI 227 - Strategic Planning Boot Camp (Phoenix) Fall 2018

This boot camp (NMI 227) will provide participants with an intensive, hands-on experience using the most current practices for effective strategic planning in any nonprofit organization. The course will focus on the strategic business aspects of a nonprofit organization.

Principles of Grant Development and Proposal Writing Certificate Spring 2018

This introductive certificate is designed for individuals who wish to begin writing grant proposals for their organization. The Grant Development and Proposal Writing Certificate will increase your confidence to secure grant funding by learning how to develop a conceptual framework for seeking grant funding that aligns with perspectives and priorities unique to each funder, instilling confidence in your organization’s ability to facilitate a proposed project.

Social Impact Measurement Certificate

Individuals ​who ​take ​this ​8 ​week ​program ​will ​have ​a ​greater ​impact ​on ​their ​organizations ​by ​measuring ​what ​matters. 

Proving ​the ​success ​of ​your ​programs ​is ​critically ​important ​today, ​and ​anecdotal ​stories ​aren’t ​enough.

NMI 112 - Emerging Marketing and Social Media Strategies (Phoenix) March 2018

This ​course ​will ​provide ​principles ​and ​practices ​for ​marketing ​your ​nonprofit ​organization. ​You ​will ​also ​learn ​current ​strategies ​and ​techniques ​for ​successfully ​positioning ​your ​organization ​and ​developing ​a ​marketing ​plan ​that ​includes ​social ​media ​marketing ​strategies. 

NMI 112 - Emerging Marketing and Social Media Strategies (Online) September 2018

This ​course ​will ​provide ​principles ​and ​practices ​for ​marketing ​your ​nonprofit ​organization. ​You ​will ​also ​learn ​current ​strategies ​and ​techniques ​for ​successfully ​positioning ​your ​organization ​and ​developing ​a ​marketing ​plan ​that ​includes ​social ​media ​marketing ​strategies. 

Note: Students who are purchasing their courses a la carte have a total of three years from initial registration in the program to meet all of their certificate requirements.

NMI 227 - Strategic Boot Camp

This two-day boot camp will provide participants with an intensive, hands-on experience using the most current practices for effective strategic planning in any nonprofit organization. The course will focus on the strategic business aspects of a nonprofit organization. You will learn how to assess the internal and external factors that influence the success of your programs. In addition, you will learn how your organization creates value for your clients. You will learn how to explore alternate futures scenarios for your organization and create strategic alternatives.

NMI 111 - Impactful Board Governance (Online) April 2018

This ​course ​provides ​a ​comprehensive ​overview ​of ​board ​governance, ​which ​includes ​the ​core ​roles ​and ​responsibilities ​of ​board ​members, ​as ​well ​as ​the ​board’s ​relationship ​to ​the ​CEO ​and ​staff. ​Participants ​will ​learn ​how ​to ​develop ​effective, ​motivated ​board ​members ​who ​are ​accountable ​for ​the ​organization’s ​assets, ​committed ​to ​develop ​a ​diversified ​resource ​base, ​and ​motivated ​to ​champion ​the ​organization ​among ​various ​stakeholders.

NMI 111 - Impactful Board Governance (Phoenix) September 2018

This course provides a comprehensive overview of board governance, which includes the core roles and responsibilities of board members, as well as the board’s relationship to the CEO and staff. Participants will learn how to develop effective, motivated board members who are accountable for the organization’s assets, committed to developing a diversified resource base, and motivated to champion the organization among various stakeholders.

The NMI 111 course will run from September 13th - September 14th (9:00am - 5:00pm both days).
