Format

The courses are offered both in-person and online.

How it works:
Simply register and pay for each class as your schedule allows. Individual course certificates are awarded at the end of each course.  Once the participant has completed all courses, they must register to graduate by paying a $50 Intent to Graduate fee.   After the intent fee is paid and all courses are completed, participants receive the full certificate. Participants have a total of three years from initial registration in the program to meet all of their certificate requirements.

Cost

The total cost is $828 if all courses are purchased at the early bird rate, ending two weeks prior to the course start date. NMI 102 and NMI 104 cost $315 each ($349 at the regular rate); NMI 143 and 144 are $85 each ($99 at full price).

Maximizing Human Potential in Nonprofits

This course will provide participants with a foundation for human resource management, including complying with federal and state employment laws as well as compensation systems. In addition, you will learn practical and lawful strategies to develop human resource policies and job descriptions, retention strategies, and appropriate staffing structures.

Engaging and Developing Volunteers

In this course, participants will learn how to recruit, manage, motivate, recognize, and reward staff and volunteers in order to effectively utilize their strengths. In addition, volunteer programs require the same type of managerial effort that any other program effort would require and there are many factors to consider in ensuring that the experience is positive for both the volunteer and the organization.

In this course, participants develop strategies to overcome internal and external conflict. Course topics examine the nature of conflict, including the influence of personality types, management styles, and communication best practices to establish a foundational basis for generating effective conflict resolution strategies.

In this course, participants evaluate the topic of change to advance their capacity to effectively champion change within their organization. Participants discuss the underlying motivations and roles of change and examine established models to devise change management plans for overcoming obstacles and implementing change within their organization.
