In this course, participants will learn basic accounting principles and how to interpret and manage financial statements for a nonprofit organization. In addition, you will also learn the difference between accrual and cash basis accounting, and the importance of internal controls to protect the assets of your organization. Finally, you will learn how to analyze and use tax form 990, along with your organization’s annual report, as public relations tools.
This is an asynchronous course with specified due dates for each discussion question and class assignment. Students have access to their course contents online 24 hours a day, making it an excellent enrichment option for busy working professionals. Instructional staff are available to aide you with subject questions and help guide you through each weekly course module.” In addition, zoom sessions have been added to each week to provide additional course reinforcement, student-instructor Q & A, and networking for students. Students who are unable to attend the zoom sessions are able to download the zoom sessions and watch them for participation class points.
