The ASU Lodestar Center is a key resource for nonprofits to better meet their missions through increased leadership and management effectiveness. Here are programs that will help build your organization.

Board Governance Training  This training consists of a series of topics that break down the best practices and responsibilities of an effective governing body. The full-day board training covers all topics and typically requires 6 hours of contact time but can be abbreviated for a shorter time-frame or built-out for custom workshops.
Strategic Planning  & Support Services Strategic planning provides the opportunity for an organization to determine its future through careful examination of the internal and external factors at play. Center staff works directly with organizational leaders to customize the program to the organization’s specific needs and desired outcomes.
Best Skills, Best Churches This program is specially designed to meet the needs of communities of faith. Courses will provide engaging, practice-oriented learning experiences that are focused on knowledge, skills and techniques that can immediately be implemented in your faith-based organization.
Arizona Service Enterprise Initiative Through a comprehensive assessment, training, coaching and certification model, nonprofits are equipped to engage and manage volunteers more effectively to meet community needs. This national certification program from Points of Light is delivered by the ASU Lodestar Center with its distinctive, high-quality approach.
Become a Public Allies Partner Organization Public Allies Arizona will place talented, diverse young adults in service to nonprofits across the community. These nonprofits, called Partner Organizations, are chosen based on their ability to provide the Ally with significant work experience, as well as their need for an innovative young leader who can help them take on a project they otherwise could not afford or infuse energy into an existing project.
Principles of Effectiveness The Principles of Effectiveness is a powerful self-examination tool that helps nonprofits assess their organization’s strengths and weaknesses and create a comprehensive plan for improvement across all ten evaluation areas. The tool is available online and is an important step in building capacity.
Culture of Evaluation/Impact This full-day workshop prepares organizational leaders to develop and execute effective evaluations. Leaders from your organization will work as a team throughout the program to create tools and develop plans that lay the groundwork for a truly transformational evaluation system.
