How to apply to Graduate Programs

ASU Graduate Admissions Application Procedures

  • Apply for admission to Graduate Admissions. There is an online application. You will be required to pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee (non-U.S. citizen fee is $90).
  • Minimum GPA requirement for bachelor's degree must be equivalent to a "B" average.
  • Additional information for international students can be found here.
  • In the online application process, you will be required to submit a written professional statement describing your purpose in pursuing the graduate program and your nonprofit experience. In addition, a current resume will be required outlining your previous professional and volunteer activities.
  • The online application will require three letters of recommendation from current or former faculty members, current or former employers, or others who are familiar with your scholarly and professional abilities and characteristics. Recommendations from family, friends and co-workers are not accepted. You will need the name, email address, title, and organization from whom you will be requesting recommendations. Your three recommenders will be emailed a link to complete an online recommendation form.
  • Official transcripts must be submitted to Graduate Admissions. You will receive an emailed acknowledgement letter from Graduate Admissions that will include an ID number and information on how to access your My ASU page. You may check your application status on My ASU.
  • You must provide proof of Measles Immunization if you applied to an in-Person program.

  • GRE's are not required.

Application Deadlines

  • Fall Semester: July 26th
  • Spring Semester: December 16th
  • Summer Term: April 27th

Applications must be complete by the above dates for the application term or your application will be applied to the next term (fall, spring, summer).
