Phoenix, Ariz. (May 10, 2017) – On May 3rd at Ability360, the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation and the ASU School of Community Resources & Development celebrated the newest graduates of the ASU Master of Nonprofit Leadership & Management (MNLM) program, ASU Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership & Management (NLM), ASU Graduate Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship and Community Development, NMI Professional Development Certificate (Nonprofit Management) and NMI Professional Development Certificate (Nonprofit Executive Leadership).

The reception also honored seven master’s degree candidates and alumni as they were inducted into the spring 2017 class of the Nu Lambda Mu international honor society – a special national honor society for graduate students specifically in nonprofit programs. The society was established in 2012 by the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC) to recognize students dedicated to the study of nonprofit management, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship and enterprise. Nu Lambda Mu seeks to advance the study of nonprofit organizations and their function in society, and to promote scholarly achievement among those who engage in these academic pursuits.

"A highlight of any year is this annual celebration for those who earn degrees and certificates from our various graduate programs and from our continuing and professional education programs through our Nonprofit Management Institute," said Dr. Robert Ashcraft, executive director of ASU's Lodestar Center and a professor of nopnrofit studies in the School of Community Resources & Development. "Communities benefit immensely from these bright and capable nonprofit leaders who we proudly call alumni of our programs," Ashcraft added.
