Aspen Institute opportunity for American Express Leadership Academy alumni

We are delighted to announce a unique opportunity for our American Express Leadership Academy at the ASU Lodestar Center alumni happening late this summer.

Academy alumni are invited to self-nominate themselves for consideration to participate in the American Express Aspen Institute Academy 2.0: A Fellowship for Emerging Nonprofit Leaders set to take place Sunday, August 20 through Friday, August 25, 2017. The American Express Foundation and the Aspen Institute established the Fellowship program to develop exceptional emerging nonprofit leaders by combining the exploration of core values with best practices from other sectors while creating opportunities for cross-sector learning, mentorship and collaboration.

Using the time-tested Aspen method of text-based dialogue, the Fellowship aims to provide the tools and perspectives necessary for effective, enlightened leadership. The program will provide nonprofit leaders with the opportunity to move beyond daily operational concerns to take time for the “blue sky” thinking and exploration of core values that animate their work and inspire them to become more effective, innovative and inspiring leaders. Learn more here.

The ideal candidate is a high-potential emerging leader who is committed to working in the nonprofit sector. We are seeking a diverse slate of nominees with regards to ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability and geography. Interested alumni should nominate themselves via the form here by Friday, April 28, 2017. After that date a committee will select the individual chosen to be recommended to the American Express Foundation and the Aspen Institute for participation in the American Express Aspen Institute Academy 2.0 opportunity. Please note: your application does not guarantee you a spot.

The Fellow’s participation is fully underwritten, exclusive of transportation to and from the seminar. The seminar will be held at the Aspen Institute campus in Aspen, CO. Only 15 new Fellows will be selected from around the world.

Nominations are due by Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:59pm.
