How to enroll

Click the application registration link above. Participants will be prompted to upload a current resume and to fill out general background information. There is a $250 application fee. Upon acceptance, this fee will be applied to the final cost.  The application deadline is February 21, 2020.

After submitting the application, the Nonprofit Management Institute (NMI) staff will review the application for senior level qualifications. NMI staff will notify the applicant within 2-3 business days of the application status.

Upon acceptance, the participant will receive a registration link to pay in full for the certificate.  Once the participant pays tuition, they will receive materials and information to start the program.

The program is approximately 8 months long.  In-person courses occur on a Friday once monthly between March 2020 and October 2020 with a break in July.  Course assignments, readings, and articles are accessed via an online learning management system ASU Canvas.

  • NMI 205 Nonprofit Executive Leadership - Friday, March 20, 2020
    • During this course, you will be introduced to current models of leadership and core leadership competencies.
  • NMI 211 Strategic Governance and the CEO – Friday, April 17, 2020
    • This course explores the components inherent in creating and maintaining a governing body that promotes a healthy and successful nonprofit organization.
  • NMI 226 Advanced Resource Development – Friday, May 15, 2020
    • This course delves into annual funds, major gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving, grants, and special events.
  • NMI 221 Social Entrepreneurship; Innovation, and New Bus. Models – June 12, 2020
    • In this course, you will assess your organization’s readiness for social entrepreneurship.
  • NMI 210 Public Trust and Influence - Friday, August 14, 2020
    • This course will discuss the role nonprofits play in influencing public policy, leading social movements, building coalitions, and organizing issue campaigns.
  • NMI 203 Financial Management for Executives - Friday, September 11, 2020
    • This session integrates financial management into executive decision making and addresses the struggle to match mission with financial resources.
  • NMI 260 Nonprofit Executive Leadership Capstone – Friday, October 16, 2020
