Each year, the American Express Leadership Academy at the ASU Lodestar Center accepts a cohort of Arizona's top emerging nonprofit leaders for a year-long professional and personal leadership development program.
Candidates are selected through a competitive process held in the late spring to participate in this program that provides them the knowledge and tools needed to take on leadership roles within the nonprofit sector.
This 10-month program is comprised of best practice approaches to leading and managing nonprofits, from renowned professors and practitioner instructors at ASU as well as established nonprofit leaders from organizations that engage with the ASU Lodestar Center. Program days focus on enhancing relationships with corporate, foundation and nonprofit leaders and educating class members on emerging issues in the sector. This program also focuses on personal leadership development of the individual. Ideal candidates should be seasoned nonprofit executives or those serving nonprofits.
