American Humanics Certificate

For a dynamic career in the nonprofit sector, there is no better undergraduate education and preparation than earning an American Humanics certificate. This is a 30 credit hour national certification program awarded through American Humanics, Inc. Arizona State University is one of the leading programs in the nation that offers this preferred national certification in Nonprofit Youth and Human Service Leadership and Management. It can be earned:

  • In conjunction with any undergraduate major
  • As a concentration within a B.S. in Nonprofit Leadership & Management
  • In conjunction with a Nonprofit Administration Minor
  • In conjunction with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (B.I.S.) in Nonprofit Administration

Program History

The American Humanics program at Arizona State University was founded in 1980 with the support of the Phoenix Rotary Club 100 and nonprofit organizations. They recognized the need for highly skilled leaders in the nonprofit sector. Through the dedication of students and the support of the community, ASU has evolved into the nation's leader among the more than 80 universities affiliated with American Humanics, Inc.

Career Opportunities

Nonprofit organizations are in the business of making the world a better place. They change lives and solve our communities' toughest problems - but are only as effective as their leadership. Dedicated and skilled professional staff members are needed to create and orchestrate programs, raise funds, promote the cause, work with youth, and carry out many other essential functions.
